Sometimes cranberry products are used to help prevent UTI. Cranberry is thought to stop some bacteria from being able to stick to the bladder wall, which stops them colonising (forming a large group). If bacteria cannot colonise an area they are less likely to cause infection.
There is not much research that supports the use of cranberry products for people with neurogenic bladder but there is unlikely to be any harm in taking them.
You should discuss the use of cranberry products with your healthcare professional.
